You approach Galtür via the German A7 or the A95 in the southbound direction. Your journey takes you to the Fern Pass main road (B179) via Imst and Landeck and then onto motorway A12 and then along the S16 (Arlbergschnellstraße) to Pians. You exit Arlbergschnellstraße at Pians and continue for about 30 kilometres along the Silvretta main road (B188) towards Galtür.
Via Innsbruck:
You drive along the German A93 towards Innsbruck. The Austrian Inntalautobahn motorway (A12) takes you via Kufstein, Innsbruck and Landeck to the S16, the Arlbergschnellstraße, all the way to Pians. You exit Arlbergschnellstraße at Pians and continue for about 30 kilometres along the Silvretta main road (B188) towards Galtür.
Via/through the Arlberg:
You take the A96 towards Lindau to get to the A14 in Austria. You follow this motorway via Bregenz, Feldkirch and through the Arlberg tunnel (or via the Arlberg Pass) to the S16 all the way to Pians. You exit Arlbergschnellstraße at Pians and continue for about 30 kilometres along the Silvretta main road (B188) towards Galtür. In the summer you can also exit the motorway at Bludenz and reach Galtür via the Silvretta High Alpine Road.
Please note that the Silvretta High Alpine Road is closed in the winter!
By rail:
The nearest train station to Galtür is Landeck. There are direct trains from Innsbruck and Zurich. From there you can continue to Galtür by Postbus service or taxi.
By plane:
There are several airports not far from Galtür:
The nearest airport is Innsbruck, which is only one hour away.
The airport with the most connections is Zurich. From there, it’s easy to reach Galtür by train (see above “By rail”).
You can also fly to Munich, but the train connection is a little more complicated from there. Some of our guests also fly to Salzburg or Friedrichshafen.
